Antique Impressive Persian Rescht Large Embroidery

 
Impressive Persian Rescht large embroidered hanging, dating to the mid 19thc. Dense and colorful tambour or chain stitch embroidery with red wool felt applique, all done on a black felted wool. Trimmed in Victorian era fringe and braid, backed in simple brown cotton. Quite heavy weighing in at approx. nine pounds. Embroidered signature and date.

Measures 65″ by 66″ with approx. 4″ fringe.
