Gorgeous jewel colored silks and velvets on this late 19th century crazy quilt, dating likely to the 1880s when these were all the rage. Beautiful example with carefully chosen high quality colors and silks, with tidy colorful embroidery. Rare to find with two matching shams made with the same ruby red velvet plush edging and backed in mustard colored figured cotton. In overall excellent antique condition with no staining and just 6 pieces of the silk with breaks. The velvet edging and backing excellent. Heavy! All pieces weigh in at 10 lbs.

Measures 80″ by 78″. Shams measure 28″ square.
