Most extravagantly impressive vintage women’s formal Japanese Uchikake wedding coat. Shimmering in silver and white silk, with the entire lining in the shimmering fabric. Heavy padded hem, and very long sleeves. The brocade is really beautiful with foliage and other auspicious symbols. In excellent condition found with several others that were never opened and found rolled in their original wrappings from an antique store in Tokyo. The sales slip reads “Hayashi Kimono” with several locations dated 1981. One of the most amazing textiles I have seen, I would date this to possibly the mid 20th century.

The piece is heavy weighing in a 9 pounds. The chest measures 54″, length 75″, sleeve wings measure 42″.
