Vintage 1950s Mystical Violet Lace Hattie Carnegie Chiffon Party Gown
Labelled Hattie Carnegie mystical blue lace and floating cream colored silk chiffon full and fluffy party gown dating to the 1950s. Strapless with horizontally gathered bodice, bodice lined in rayon with bones, side metal zip. Full length skirting with violet blue lace lattice work surrounding gathered chiffon diamond shaped medallions, deep bias cut flounce at hem, under the top layer is another full length layer of cream sheer chiffon all atop a cream rayon base that is further backed in stiff mesh. A lovely confectionary creation! Has a few condition issues but is worthy of conservation efforts, the very top edge of bodice has slight fray to chiffon on one side under arm, the blue lace lattice work is fragile here and there with seam openings and occasional small holes a few pindot faint spots.
