Antique sophisticated and finely rendered European jacquard square shawl dating to the mid 19th century, closely resembling the hand made Kashmiri shawls of the period. Likely French origins with a small black center. Beautiful textile with well drawn design elements with the careful use of white design elements to make the pattern really come alive, multi colors and swooping boteh throughout with “gates” and fringe on four sides. In mint excellent as found condition, no holes, no odors. Excellent example for collection.
