Finest French Bayeux hand done large Chantilly shawl. Dating to the third quarter of the 19th century. Delicate as a butterfly wing and light as a feather with the lush and lavish floral design elements that seem to float atop the ground mesh. Tour de force of needlework coupled with brilliant draftsmanship make this large shawl collection worthy. In overall excellent condition, with one small separation of the point de recroc on very edge – see images.
