Stunning luminous cream silk satin narrow panel. Possibly originating from the Lyon Textile Mills, France, circa 1890. The kind of apparel weight quality silk most associated with the House of Worth. Graceful grouping of the golden leaves crowd on one end and gradually thin out towards the other end. The gold lamé weft gives the silk satin added luster and luxurious hand. In very good antique uncleaned condition with a couple of spots of tarnish to the gold metallic lamé on the back, and three small coin sized tarnish spots near one end, as well as a couple pindot holes.
Measures 76″ by 25.5″ wide salvage edge both sides, weighs 2 lbs.
